December 9, 2008 (Philadelphia, PA) – During a live televised program on CBS, GRAMMY® Nominations for the 51st Annual GRAMMY® Awards were announced and Philadelphia-based Phil’erzy Productions basks in an emotional triple threat: The Empress of Soul Linda Jones, her daughter Terry Jones, and singing/business partner Helen Bruner all earned a GRAMMY nomination for a song that all three sang and that T. Jones and Bruner co-wrote, produced and distributed on their own independent label Phil’erzy. “Baby I Know,” a song off this year’s critically acclaimed Linda Jones CD “Soul Talkin’” is nominated for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance. The City of Newark, New Jersey, Jones' hometown, will honor her contribution to R&B/Soul music with a proclamation declaring Linda’s birthday, December 14, Linda Jones Day. On that day an intimate gathering will take place in Newark with local government officials, family, friends and R&B legends of the 60s and 70s all coming together to celebrate Linda’s legacy. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Linda Jones entered the charts for the first time in 1967 with the classic R&B ballad “Hypnotized” which in 1967 topped the Billboard Black Music Charts at No. 4. She recorded many chart-topping hits after that until March 14, 1972, when Linda’s career was cut short.
